How To Create Data Class Using Wizard
The Data Class represents the basic attributes of a book. For example, BookID, Title, ISBN Number etc are the basic attributes of the book. Reviewers and Authors are advanced attributes. App developer defines a DataClass and provides comprehensive information about each and every attribute of the book. A New data class wizard will automatically build your data class from the existing data table. If you don’t have a data table, you will have to manually add data class and its properties one by one. Carefully chose the property captions and data types to avoid rework.
1. Select owner Application
As in the case of new connection, you can select your App module to which the dataclass should be added.
2. Select Connection
Here you can select the connection from the lookup and click on next.
3. Choose tables
You will be presented with a screen as shown in figure. You will have the tables from your data base. Select necessary tables from the list for that particular data class.
Here, you can add a prefix or suffix to the data class name, so that you can create two or more dataclass from the same table if necessary. Once you finish move to the next step.
We need a review for our selected table’s details. Select the table and click on edit button, now you will be presented with a screen as shown in figure. You will be able to edit all the details of the fields shown. This includes table name, sql select query etc.
6. Review Data classes
This is the final step and here you just want to review the data class you have created. Here you can go through all columns in the datatable and edit the details. Detailed review makes your data class and App perfect. Now dataclass is created, you can move to creating an entity.
